My morning begins with a rush and a dash,
I turn to my pc as quick as a flash
to see if there's post from my girl on the coast,
perhaps an email or two to say "I like you",
and then I have coffee and toast.
It's not fair to expect a new message,
could be she has little to say
of stuff that is new, or to say "I miss you,
it's been so long since we spoke last night."
So I call up my best email client
and send her some beautiful prose,
full of poetry and song to put right what's wrong
in case that's why my love never wrote.
She replies with a gush and a flourish
to tell me that she feels the same
and that she's wanting me
as much as I'm wanting she
and to say there's no feeling of shame.
We both know the situation is awkward,
to say different is telling a lie
but when we're not together,
here over the ether,
we both feel we're going to die.
To laugh and to say we are foolish
to want what we both cannot share,
at least at this time, is doubting the mind
and its power to bring her right here.
She can have me whenever she wants me,
I can have her likewise, the same,
maybe not in the flesh but in everything else,
to love and to cherish... to share.
