Realization
The image that she held in mind
was the young girl with the body of a nymph
but having had the life she'd lived
brought questions to her mind about herself.
So many loves as she grew up
but never seemed to fill the void inside
and wond'ring if the dream she dreamed
was just a wish that can't be realised.
Relationships which turned out bad
had made a mark on how she saw herself,
untidy and undisciplined,
too bad it seems she'd even disregarded health
and feeling useless, worthless too,
had made her lose her cherished self-esteem,
she'd even thought to end it all
but still she strove to realise her dream.
If only she could give herself
to someone who could see and share her worth,
the poems, childrens' stories too,
amongst the things which she had given birth.
A poet, dreamer, artist, sage
or man who lived with wonder in his mind
and shared her values, hopes, beliefs
then she could live and leave the past behind.
She saw a future filled with love,
of value, not of wordly goods at last,
her new image would be self-respect
and not a shade of what had been her past,
she rebuilt her home, her body
and her life was on the road to right as well
she loved him for he'd made her see
her value was much greater than she'd felt.
